VOL 1: SAINTS

Struggles with Knowing & Understanding “God’s Will”

As Christians, we may have some faith-questions about God’s Will. Such questions may put us on the verge of a crisis of faith. We may wonder if grieving and tears are signs of faithlessness? We may ask how God is present in our midst when death and dying surround us? Lastly, we may wonder how we can have faith strengthened as we approach our own death, heaven, and eternity.

The Christian Gospel can be a powerful help in such times; it is our only chance for rescue even when we feel rejected or abandoned by God. We also need to be shown the way past the mistaken advice that “God only gives you what you can handle.” (I Cor 10:13) That is not scriptural. It is also very distressing to those who have suffered a loss; it creates more resentment toward God than reverence when offered as an explanation.

Such questions and answers need to be investigated and satisfactorily resolved.  It is not done with mere piety; it takes Bible study and grief work. Often we need help with both.  This book is the author’s effort in that direction.
